How To Clean Mirrors With Vinegar [September 2023]

If you struggle to get your mirrors clean with traditional glass cleaners, there’s a simple solution: vinegar. Not much more than that, it’s as easy as spraying or wiping down a mirror with vinegar and waiting for the magic to happen. It will be good enough for most people.

For tougher jobs, mix distilled white vinegar (or apple cider vinegar) and water in equal parts in a spray bottle and apply liberally to the mirror. Let it dry and then wipe off with a microfiber cloth. For even tougher jobs, use vinegar and dishwashing detergent to scrub the mirror.

To clean your vehicles, fill up the spray bottle and add some vinegar as you would to the mirrors. Spray on the surface of the vehicle you want to clean then wipe down with a microfiber cloth.

Do not use plain old white vinegar on wood or metal surfaces because it can cause damage or discoloration over time. The same goes for bleach, which is especially dangerous when you’re dealing with natural hardwood materials like mahogany or walnut furniture that may take several uses of bleach before they appear clean once again.
