Double sided tape is a sticky, transparent adhesive that is great for use as a temporary solution for bonding materials together. When the time comes to separate bonded items, it’s easy to remove double sided tape with soap and water. This instructional video will show you how.
If you’re like me, you’ve probably used double sided tape before and then found out that it was stuck to something else that needed separating after the fact. If you want to separate items with double sided tape permanently adhered to them, you’ll need to remove the adhesive first. That’s why removing double sided tape isn’t really permanent at all!
Here is a simple tutorial showing you how I use to remove double-sided tape from whatever it may be stuck on. This is by no means professional but it works for me.

How do you remove double sided foam tape?
There are a couple ways to remove double sided foam tape.
A hairdryer is a great way to get the job done. Hold it about 2 to three inches away on medium heat for several minutes. Try the tape before you pull it off. If it still is not loose enough, just hold the hair dryer near it again.
Also use a putty knife to pry the tape from the edges to minimize the ripping effect
How do you get double sided tape off the floor?
There are several products that can be used to remove the double sided tape from the floor. Alcohol, Goo be gone, WD40, Skin so Soft, Oil.
Spray one of the selected removers on the tape and allow it to set for a couple minutes. Start peeling the corners of the tape and keep applying the removers as you need them and working the tape loose.
Once you get the tape off, use your sponge or cloth to clean the rest of the tape residue from the floor.
How do you get double sided tape off a picture?
Use your fingernail or razor blade to remove the tape. You could use the hairdryer method as well. Just make sure you don’t cause any type of damage to the pictures. You can also use the freezer to clean the tape off the picture as well. You can also use dental floss to use the tape.
It is all a matter of preference.
