Ever wished you could frame your own pictures? Ever thought about building custom frames for your drawings, prints, or family photographs?
Well, it’s not that hard. All you need is some frame stock, a few tools, and a vision for what you want your piece to look like.
Once you have your materials together, the possibilities are endless.
If you have ever seen Measure and cut your page.
Measure and cut your mat board to the size you wish.
Lay facedown and apply a long piece of tape on edge of the page.
Turn your page right side up and hold the mat board over the page.
When you are certain of the position, press the matte down firmly to the page and tape.’
When it is secure, place the matte in the frame.
To make a photo frame, pick your design of cardboard or paper.
Cut a rectangle in the middle of the cardboard
Paint the frame to your preferences.
Decide which decorations you want to accent the frame and glue them on
Make the back of the frame using another piece of paper.
Needs to be slightly smaller, but big enough to cover the rectangle in the frame.
Glue the new rectangle to the photo frame.
Slide the photo down into the frame.
Select your artwork
Find the proper size matting and frame you want for your picture.
Choosing the right mat is important as it should be bigger than your picture.
Pick your frame that will go well with your décor, but at the same time complement the colors in the art.
You can use double sided tape or scotch tape. Tape the picture in a T formation and apply to the mat.
Place the mat and art work down in the frame and hang.

Find supplies designed just for gently cleaning older photographs.
Make sure you wear gloves
Lay the photo on a towel on a clean dry surface
Brush off the dirt
Wipe with a rag to make sure you have lingering dirt.
Take the wipes and very gently clean the photograph
Use a blow dryer on low heat ten inches from the photo to dry it
Note: for rare or very old photographs, it is best to seek a professional
